Spotify Connect can't distinguish different machines even though they have different IP and hostname

When I press play on spotify on my android device and I have selected one of my computers in my local network as the device to listen to, all my computers starts to play music, often different songs. The only way I can use spotify connect is to kill the spotify process on all computers except the intended one. It seems the clients are not verifying they are the intended client for the command broadcasted by the application. (Why is it even broadcasted and not just sent to the proper device?). I have not sniffed the traffic but I could do that if it would help. All the personal computers in my network are running arch linux. All my mobile devices are running android.
