[Linux] Spotify Desktop Client Permission Denied To External Drive

My Question or Issue

 Settings > Local Files > Add Source : When navigating to an external drive (mounted to /media/user/drive) pop up window appears saying "Error opening directory '/media/user/Drive': Permission denied".

Note the directories permissions have not been modified, the ACL has not been modified from default, and "ps -auxw | grep spotify" shows that the process is running with permissions of "user".
