Linux Upstream spotify client download server disconnects

Linux Upstream spotify client download server disconnects

My Question or Issue

Trying to download the Spotify client using the repository server renders lots of disconnects.

When downloading http://repository.spotify.com/pool/non-free/s/spotify-client/spotify-client_1.1.55.498.gf9a83c60_amd... with wget, the server will disconnect a few times. Using the --continue flag with wget eleviates the issue but this makes is a pain when dowloading using package managers such as yay.

The deb repo has been unreliable for some time. It also doesn't get timely updates. The preferred package distribution method is the snap store. If you'd rather not use snaps (I'd rather not) you can use the unofficial flatpak package.

I would not hold your breath for Spotify to fix the deb repo. The Linux desktop app is not officially supported.
