Spotify vs Yosemite, no contest

I am running Spotify app with Yosemite (10.10.3). Apparently, this combination is not compatible. Spotify kills my system by sucking up all memory. The app will take 20 minutes to open if I am lucky, the little wheel just goes round and round. When restated, it opens automatically when going bad.  The other apps on the macbook don’t want to work without memory, which is in short supply.

I force quit Spotify, trash all files, and reinstall. This will work for a few days, then repeat reinstall. 

Is there an upgrade to correct this? Or do I just cancel and wait for a new version that will work with Yosemite?

I clicked "Me Too" however my issue is worse, I get the wheel going round and round, eventually the home screen appears and then the app immediately crashes.  I am also running 10.10.3 and I have lots of RAM
