There's a lot of experimental music out there. Many artists will try radical things for the sake of being unique, whether through the sounds, lyrics, cover art, or titles. I've seen this through a couple songs which I have no idea how to reference without a play button lol.

I wanna know what else is out there too, post it!
It's not underground enough if you can pronounce or even write the name of the band or the project
- one user from last.fm

Anyway, yeah. They are kind of interesting examples. They are both thought to be Four Tet, actually. No-one's quite sure though. 🙂 They do appear in his playlist for songs from countries banned in the US.
A few examples that I happen to know:
An artist named Useless has an album named Hexa, and the song names are in hex:
https://open.spotify.com/album/0dT873hvVRvXfmve36G8Lc
Aphex Twin has a few albums with... gibberish song names (a nightmare for those editing their song tags), but he also has an own approach soundwise.
Amon Tobin's latest LP, ISAM (Invented Sounds Applied To Music) is productionwise a completely new era. He explored new ways on how to create new sounds from existing ones, creating own playable instruments "with high attention to details, and then playing them badly".
Album art is another story - a sculptor from UK created a sculpture for each track on the album, using all sorts of organic material and creating a new world out of them, a world of fairies (little black creatures with fly or moth wings).

There are artists with a very recognisable sound. They may make songs that vary a lot from one another (from ambient to some fierce beats), but one can still understand that this is that artist. I could say Amon Tobin and Eskmo fit that. Aphex too.
One artist puts a lot of effort into creating very colorful live shows - Empire of the Sun. Their first album sounded very original too...
Anyway it's a cool topic and I'm looking forward to entries by more users! 🙂
Wow that's actually super interesting. I'm gonna have to make a collaborative playlist for all the obscure music I find haha. I also heard that it was Four Tet's project, and that's pretty cool. I hope more users reply, I'm always looking for new music to listen to, even if the titles are randomly generated letters LOL. Thank you for the reply (:
I’m not sure I understand what’s meant by “obscure music”, whether it’s weird sounding tunes, songs with strange names or by artists who have passed under the radar.

I mean, the term 'obscure music' can be interpreted differently by everyone. I started off the thread with my own meaning, but I'm sure the broadest definition would be anything you're not familiar with or anything off the mainstream. I'll be listening to all your recommendations, though, thank you for contributing!

I just noticed... Arzathon? As in Ralf Bevis?
Yes Arzathon as in Gypsy ie: Ralf Bevis... that's if it's me you were talking to 🙂 not sure where they went, but look for Gypsy & Federico Balducci.. I've been recording using the name Gypsy again... also Dreamtime Troubadours ... Trolls on Acid .. Heavy Metal Vampires on Nuclear Waste.. all projects of mine..
