Hi kingkill666- That's correct. You'll be able to listen to our library (except for some Premium exclusive content) without any limits for the next 6 months.
Pleaset note however that you'll still continue to receive ad breaks and you won't be able to sync playlists for offline use.
Hello,
After having a Spotify account for 6 months, some limitations will start to apply. We list them in full over on our FAQ, right here.
so..if i understand corectly.. for the next 6 month i can listen to music FREE? with no limits of hours/day or month?

Hi
It seems I've used up my 10 hour limit, but how can I find out when I can next use Spotify please? I understand it will be an anniversary of the date I joined, but how can I find out what that is? Couldn't see it in my Account details.
Cheers
Hi windinscalp - Your 10 hours per month are divided into 2.5 hours per week.
So you'll be able to listen to your music again within the next 7 days.
Hi this morning i got the message saying i cannot listen to anymore music as my 10 hour limit is up. However my account is not allowing me to listen to the library or any other music on spotify as it says i have to have spotify premium or unlimited before i can start using spotify again. Considering on the website it says i can use it for 6 months i am confused as i have only been able to use my account for 10 hours?
please help

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
Where was your Spotify account originally registered?
If you are now living in the US, you can change your country in your online profile and you should get unlimited free streaming as stated here.
If you are still having issues, drop the team a message using the online contact form and someone will be able to assist you 😉

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
You will see a timer in the top right corner of the desktop client when you have less than 1 hour remaining.

Why does US users have no limit and Europe has? Just because of this I will not upgrade to unlimited ou premium.

It is down to licensing, free account holders can also access Spotify radio on mobile devices whereas you need premium to use any feature of the mobile application anywhere else.

What happened today? I have been told I have used my "ten hours". Never heard of this before. How do I get spotify back?
Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
Spotify free accounts which have been registered for 6 months or more are subject to extra restrictions:
- Maximum streaming time of 10 hours per month (allocated as a maximum of 2.5 hours per week, meaning you never need to wait more than 7 days to listen again!).
- In the UK and France, a maximum track play count of 5 plays.
You can read more about free account restrictions in your country here.
These restrictions only apply to free subscribers, so an upgrade to Spotify unlimited or premium will remove these. As Sam said above, it is not something Spotify want, but it is needed to offer to the free service in the long run at the minute.
