Can't set password for devices

I can't set password for devices.

I click on the button and it sends me an email immediately.

I click on the button that says "Set your device password"

But then it just loads a spotify page that says "Oh NO! Something has gone wrong. But don't be sad. You can try again a little bit later"

The most frustating message I have ever read.......

So I tried 4 hours later and the same thing.

Please help, what is going on? I just want to log in via mysqueezebox but I have a stupid facebook login via spotify and thus have no idea what the username and password is.

I have tried:

my spotify numerical username + facebook password = no success.

my spotify numerical username + facebook generated password via generate app passwords in facebook security settings = no success.

my facebook spotify numerical username + facebook password = no success.

my facebook spotify numerical username + facebook generated password via generate app passwords in facebook security settings = no success.

Not sure what else to try. Any help, much appreciated.

Hey @mystiquesbs, welcome to the Spotify Community!

If you used your Facebook credentials to create your account, you'll have to follow these exact steps to generate a device password:

1. In your Facebook settings, select Security.
2. Select App Passwords.
3. Click Generate App Password.
4. Enter your current Facebook password and click Submit.
5. Enter Spotify, and Facebook will automatically generate a password for you.

You can use this with your Facebook ID (not email address) to log in to Spotify on any device.
