Got charged when I have spotify free

I got on a free trial over a year ago, I thought I had cancelled it when the trial was up, but come to realize I've been charged $9.99 for almost a year!! (I only went back so far in my bank statements). Since its almost IMPOSSIBLE to figure out how to just CANCEL spotify, it took me awhile to realize my subscription status is FREE (& has been for who knows how long, I wasn't using it) Yet, I am still getting charged. There seems to be no customer support other than this "community" so they tell me to ask here. Can the company who runs Spotify just STOP CHARGING for my FREE account? And reinburse me for the months I've been paying for nothing, because I didn't even use the FREE spotify!?! NOT HAPPY. please give me simple, clear instructions on how to fix this, & GET ME MY MONEY BACK. thank you.

Hey @simplybartlett,

 

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails -- that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

 

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.
