Merry xmas, 3 months for £0.99, no.. Bah humbug!

I have always been a free account holder as far as I can recall, although I have bought a day pass once 4 or 5 years ago.

I can understand why you want to stop people from abusing the free trials, but sending an alert to my phone with a "merry xmas, 3 months for £0.99" message, I got a little bit excited and clicked to sign up to the deal... Only to be told that I am not eligible.

If you know that I am not eligible for a deal, dont send me a message telling me that I am.

 

Even if I had been a subscriber in the past - how many people who take the 3 month deal would cancel after the 3 months? Not all of them - So as a result of this promotion you end up with more returning subscribers. win-win?
