Premium subscription attracts FX fee on AMEX card

Hi Community -

I've just checked my bank statement, and it looks like I get charged an FX fee on my Spotify payments. Here's the relevant portion from my credit card statement:

12 May 2014	11.99 AUD INC FX FEE AUD$ 0.41		0.00
12 May 2014	SPOTIFY AUSTRALIA 359444322010 SE	12.40

So basically, I'm being charged $12.40 monthly for my Spotify subscription, as the bank is charging me an FX fee of $0.41 per month. Weirdly, the FX fee seems to be from AUD to AUD.

My country is correctly set to Australia, and none of the other payments I make on my credit card go through this way. It's an American Express card, issued by Westpac.

Does anyone else have this? Is this normal?

Hello!

You would need to contact Spotify directly for this, you can do that here. If you get an automated reply just reply directly to that email (even if it is a no-reply). They should be able to find out what is going on, and why you were charged an extra fee.
