Problem with changing country

Hi there,

 

I'm having an issue with processing payment on my account.

I used to live in Malaysia and had a premium account for several years on a Malaysian VISA card. I've since moved back home to Canada and am trying to change my country to Canada to process a payment on a Canadian Mastercard. I have strictly followed the guides posted here on the community as well as the support site, tried many times, and it just doesn't work; I only receive this message:

  • It looks like your card is from a non-Spotify country.
  • Unfortunately we haven't launched in this country yet. You need to use a card issued in a Spotify launched market.

I'm on a Canadian IP address, I don't use a proxy of any kind. I get this message irrespective of which device I use to try to process the payment. The card is definitely registered to a Canadian address and valid (I use it everyday).

 

Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the Spotify Community.

 

In this case, could you try clearing your browser's cache/cookies, refresh it and try it again? It would also worth a shot trying from an incognito window or a different browser/ device.

 

Also, make sure you update your info with the steps here.

Clearing the cookies will do what? Cleared. Same problem persists. And the "steps" linked in your post point to an old help page with instructions that do NOT work anymore. How can I change my country to Canada? Why is this simple thing such a pain? 

Same problem from me. Moved from Sweden to Thailand (who now have spotify service in country) cannot update payment with my Thai debit card. Says use country in a spotify market etc etc... 

Tried EVERYTHING. Icognity browser clearing cache cookies... In language swedish english even thai. Still cannot change. Even opened an new thai spotify account with same debit card for my girlfriend... AND that was no problem what so ever. 

Is it becuase its cheaper in thailand I am not aloud to change?! 😊😊😊😊

Incognito window...error persists. Can you please fix this.

I am also receiving this error message when attempting to pay for my subscription with a German credit card.

 

My currently registered card is expiring soon, so without resolution, I am unable to keep paying for your service..

Hola! Necesito su ayuda. Vivo en Chile, pero estare dos meses en Sudafrica. Cuando intente iniciar sesion hoy, desde Sudafrica, no me lo permitio. Intente cambiar de pais en la cofiguracion y solo aparece Chile. Compre la version pagada pensando que asi podria hacerlo, y tampoco funciono. Por favor, podrian ayudarme? Gracias! Hi! I moved from Chile, South America, to South Africa. Today, when I tried to connect said me that I have to change the country, but I can`t because is stucked in "Chile", there is no more option than Chile... I buy an account (My original count was free) and  neither. Please, anybody could help me?
