can't connect to Facebook

Hi,

I've been on a new account for a week now and I'd like to connect my Spotify-account to my Facebook-profile.

When I open up "connect with facebook", a white popup opens in Spotify displaying nothing. In my browser, after logging in and giving Spotify the needed permissions, it just says "OK", and nothing happens. The white popup in Spotify stays white and nothing happens.

How can I connect my accounts if this method fails?

Hi @wjm-89 and welcome to the community 🙂

You should be able to go to https://spotify.com/account/profile and click the 'Connect to Facebook' button to do it in your browser.

Once done, logout and exit the desktop client.

When I'm not logged in on the site and I say "log in with facebook" it says an error occured while logging in.

When I am logged in with my username and password, I'm not seeing any FB-connect option.

Hi,

They appear to have removed the web-based linking system...

Please could you try logging outo of the Spotify client, exiting the Spotify client, logging back in and trying to connect again?

Had exactly the same problem. 

I tried the link and it came up with this.

Connect to Facebook

You have now imported your Facebook friends. You will see them when you log in to Spotify.

Go back to the account overview

It didn't work initially though as I still had Spotify and Facebook accounts open. I closed them both down and tried again and it is now working perfectly. I now have friends. Many many thanks as this has been doing my head in for ages.

There is no "connect to facebook" button listed

when I clicked on the link I just got this message:

Given URL is not permitted by the Application configuration: One or more of the given URLs is not permitted by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.
