Hi,

Can somebody tell me abouth spotify bluetooth quality on ios? How does the transcoding work? My headphones supports aac and aptx but from my understanding ios only outputs aac and thustranscods spotifys ogg to aac and as a result quality gets much worse. Is this true? Definitly dealbreaker for me if using spotify on ios worsens quality on bluetooth headphones.

As fas as I know this IS true. Spotify declines to do anything about this every time someone complains regarding this issue and I check the topic for at least 3 years now. The additional conversion on the fly (from OGG to AAC, I guess) makes it unbearable to me to listen to Spotify on iPhone via Bluetooth connection. It is better with devices that manage to use aptX but this is not the case with Apple mobile devices.

The only solution so far is a cable connection or switching to other platforms such as Apple Music or YouTube Music.
