HTC One M9 Album art on lock screen and music ID broadcast to bluetooth hangs

Hi,

I'm experiencing an issue with the album art on lock screen and music id broadcast to bluetooth hanging/freezing. Music continues to play normally, and there is no jitter/low volume during these hangs. Normal operation resumes when I have force closed the app, and then restart Spotify. 

The problem seems to be regardless whether or not I'm connected to a bluetooth device, as the album art on lock displays album art unrelated to the song being played. This is also the case with ID broadcast, as my Pioneer AVH-x3600dab will display music info unrelated to the artist currently playing. 

Anyone know about a fix for this issue?
