Has the shuffle option been removed? If not, how can I access it?
Well, no wonder. You're in radio mode!
There is of course no shuffle in radio mode... since radio is actually only shuffle anyway. 😛
If you play a song normally you should still see it in now playing.
Ok now if I click on a song in my playlist, it tells me that I have to be a premium user, which I signed up for when I was on my computer but apparently it doesn't know this on my phone.

Alright, so I guess I would have to become a premium user in order to use the shuffle button. Bummer. Oh well. Thanks so much for all your help.
It's more like this:
As a free users (in the USA) you are able to only use the radio function on the mobile device.
In other countries you can't access the mobile version at all without a Premium account, so consider yourself lucky. 😉
And yes, if you want to play your playlists/normal Spotify catalogue you would have to get a subscription.
