I hope this message finds you well. My name is Nihal P. Basheer, and I am currently engaged in research at Reva University aimed at developing the Personal Soundtrack Scale (PSS). This scale is designed to measure individuals’ emotional and psychological connections to music that they identify as their “personal soundtrack.”

The Personal Soundtrack Scale focuses on how specific songs, genres, and musical experiences contribute to an individual's identity, evoke memories, and influence emotional states. We have identified four key factors that the scale addresses:

1. Emotional Regulation
2. Identity Formation
3. Memory and Nostalgia
4. Social Connection

Request for Your Expertise

As part of the validation process, we have generated 48 items for the scale through an extensive literature review and semi-structured interviews. We seek to ensure the face validity of these items and would greatly appreciate your expertise and input.We kindly request your participation in evaluating the generated items. You will be asked to indicate which items you feel best reflect the perceived acceptance of the constructs associated with personal soundtracks. Your insights will be invaluable in refining the scale and ensuring its relevance and accuracy for future use.
