Search & Browse on desktop

Hi,

On the mobile app there is a Search & Browse function.  When you click this function it pulls up a ton of playlist sorted by genre.  Is this function available on the desktop?  I would love to be able to access these playlists on my PC.

Thanks

Its not properly available on the desktop yet, but I think you will find the Tunigo application inside the desktop app looks shockingly similar to browse 😉

Another possibility is to use the radio function. It has some genres and decades at the bottom to create a station from.

Browse is available in the desktop app too, there is no icon yet though.
Enter spotify:app:browse in the searchbox 🙂

And a couple of other things they're working on:
spotify:app:messages
spotify:app:collection

Both Browse and Messages should be available in the sidebar of your desktop client as far as I am aware. If not, what client version are you using (Help/Spotify > About)?

The "Browse" option is not available in my client, version: 0.9.4.183.g644e24e0 on linux. The "Message" option is there though.

Ah Browse was added in 0.9.6, so I am guessing we are still waiting on the feature on linux.

Hi,

I'm on version 0.9.6.81 on Windows and the browse option does not appear on the sidebar.

My workaround is to go the tunigo app and click a link.

Can you help?

What country are you in @Aligeiro ?
Spotify are aware of some issues in new markets such as Chile.

Yes, I do.

And it's also available on the android app, just not on the windows app.

Might be worth a clean reinstallation of the desktop client and see if that makes any diffference?

Just did and remains with the same behavior.

I've escalated this as an issue already, so I will add your details to the escalation for the time being all I can suggest is using the spotify:app:browse shortcut to access browse in the desktop client.

Thanks for the help.

Will someone contact me regarding the issue? Or should I just check this thread?

You should get emails when anyone replies to this thread, hopefully it will just appear and start to work on its own once they fix the issue!

Hey @Aligeiro exactly which OS are you using? Windows 7?

Yes, windows 7 64 bit.

Sup, guys. I came across this thread just now because the browse feature isn't showing up in the sidebar for me either. I'm from Czech Republic, if that makes any difference.
