Share via SMS not actually carrying over link in Android

In recent months when i click Share and then SMS, it opens my SMS, but does not carry over the link, regardless of it's a song or playlist. I now have to copy the link, open SMS, and then paste it my self. I realize this is a small quibble, but it's annoying as there's the SMS button right there. 

I'm on Android, all updates to Spotify, SMS, and Android are current. I'm using Verizon Message+.
