Spotify Tesla app doesn’t play music

Spotify Tesla app doesn’t play music

Help ! Please! For some reason, the Spotify app on the Tesla will not play music. I’m logged in, the car has perfect data signal because other apps stream music just fine, but the Spotify app just spins and spins. In fact, I can search for songs and the results show up, but then there is no way to play them.
Logging out and back in solves the problem for a few songs, but then it just stops playing again.   Of course this solution is a real problem when driving - and it’s annoying to have to type  in long passwords on the screen.
I’ve searched the Internet and many users have the same problem I do. They only provide workarounds like reset the car computer or change languages. I’ve tried that too and the problem comes back after a few songs.
I’ve reported the bug to Tesla but I don’t know who develops the app.

I ahve the exact same issue.  I even updgraded to family plan and created a new accout just for the car itself - thinking that somehow my phone was interfereing as it was trying to connect with BT as a device when I got in the car.   I also use spoify with amazon echos in my house.  So again, thought that this was "confusing' the car log in when I start the car and drive.  But yes, super dangerous to have to log in while driving (and I do it).  I also hold the buttons and reset the computer and that works....but only for a short time and I can't understand why it's inconsistent.   I am in a 2018 model 3 perf. now and I DID NOT have this problem in a 2020 modely Y i sold.  so makes me wonder if there is a TCU problem in the older 2018 tesla.  But all the other streaming apps work just fine...so then points to a problem on the spotify streaming side.  I am at a loss and trying now to get an answer from customer support.

update:  spotify just tells me (of course) to talk to Tesla and Tesla handles customer issues.  I bet they will end up pointing to each other as the issue and not resolve this.  Here is what spotify told me:
