Extended student status when studying for longer than 4 years

I faced challenges during high school that required me to take a different path. I completed an MBO (secondary vocational education) program, and now I’m about to start my HBO studies in September. Because of this route, I will be a student for at least 8 years in total.

However, Spotify’s student discount only lasts 4 years. This means that many students like me, who take longer or different educational paths, lose access to the student plan, even though we are still full-time students.

Education doesn’t look the same for everyone. Whether someone takes vocational training, a bachelor’s, a master’s, or studies part-time, they are still a student. The current policy unfairly limits those who don’t fit into the “traditional” timeline.

I am asking Spotify to extend the student discount to cover the entire duration of a person’s studies, regardless of how long it takes.

This would make Spotify more accessible and fair to all students, no matter their path.
