So Spotify for whatever reason decided to make the app as inconvenient as possible. The previous set up before this new update was so easy to navigate, find the artist, songs, radio stations, and podcasts whenever I hit the library icon. Now I have to search for and add all these artists basically all over again and frankly I'm pretty mad about it to the point where I want to cancel my subscription. Whats even more frustrating is trying to contact Spotify themselves so I can complain in hopes of actually getting something done about this is like a game and seemingly impossible to get a direct hold of. We at Reddit r/Spotify are getting very tired of Spotify ignoring us paying customers. Please change your business model because we feel that the current one ignores us way too much.   EDITED:    1.  If community is to used then please ask before removing major features like notifications (or conduct a focus survey)    Are deptartments in your business so siloed that decisions are made seperate from other departments and without an overall regard for user experience?  How many years has Spotify been in business?  Yet it still feels like it's in beta and features are being added and removed as Spotify pleases with disregard to customer's feedback and outrage.     2.  Test code more thoughroughly before releasing an update.   Maybe agile workfolow doesn't have to be so fast and untesteted.  Hire more QA personel.    3.  Hire more dedicated customer support personel. It's very frustrating realizing that you can only talk to other paying customers about issues you're having and if you really want to make a fuss then you have to go to twitter.     Just a Few issues to mention as an example: Folower count is gone inside Desktop playlists Notifications of new songs gone Lyrics gone on desktop client Can't interact with playlist followers Inbox is buggy and takes hours for messages to show No incentive to get followers or make good playlists No rhyme or reason to the whole "follow process" Release Notes are not out there anymore Shuffle is not random Notifications don't work on mobile New community site design is huge step back Need clearing cache option for IOS Should not have click on 5 things to get to my playlists (mobile) Should not have a limit to songs saved "Not right now" for bringing back widely voted feature shoud not be an option So many more bugs and bad decisions that take away from good customer experience, couldn't list them all.    ... Hi. After much time thinking, I've come to the conclusion that Spotify, lo and behold, offers a far better music experience than Microsoft's own Groove service. However, there is one thing missing that I believe is crucial to this experience that gives Microsoft a few extra brownie points is apps. Spotify's desktop app, while being the go-to for all desktop users, is feeling the age and is starting to get clunky. My suggestion to the Spotify development team is to build a new Spotify app on the Universal Windows Platform. The benefits of this are huge. The UWP allows for porting of the great iOS app, making development a bit easier, and the UWP allows for one code-base across devices, meaning that one Spotify app could run on a Windows 10 desktop, phone, Xbox, and even Microsoft's HoloLens. With support for features like Cortana, users could call up their music with a simple voice command, without ever having to leave their work or their games. This app would bring a much needed refresh to desktop users on Windows 10, and could strengthen Spotify's customer base by reaching out to those on Xbox and Windows Phone. I don't consider showing information about music events ads, because you're really linking to the service doing the actual selling. Deleting an account (for whatever reason) is currently "not easy" to do. I've seen so many posts from frustrated users about this. For instance, I found out I have multiple spotify accounts using facebook and my email and I only want to keep one of them. I had to Google how to do this only to find out I have to go to the support webpage and email customer support telling them I wanted a particular account deleted. I then had to provide account details, and go through a number of verifications before I can have one of my accounts deleted. When scrolling up or down the song lists, can't that scroll bar be a visible color other than black. I usually save my music instead of just listening online, that makes the "Music" section be immense. My solution is to create playlists to separate songs. The problem is that many songs will not be played because they were not added in any playlist. Creating a new playlist is such a tiresome effort. The search for my favourite music takes so much longer than it's worth. Spotify have made it easier for you to select songs to put onto a playlist, but the journey there is just one I don't wish to spend hours on.    So why not create a 'playlist game'; where Spotify suggests genre categories and you either swipe or tick if you like those genres or swipe or cross if you don't. Following this platform, Spotify would then suggest songs related to your 'ticked' genres and ignore those related to the 'crossed' genres and once again, you would tick or cross these songs and if ticked they would be added to your playlist and if crossed they would be ignored and noted that you don't like that song. For example, on the first platform, if 'blues' was suggested, I would probably cross this and no blues songs would be suggested on the second platform. However, if 'R&B' or 'Pop' was suggested, I would probably tick these and songs such as 'One Dance - Drake' or 'Can't Stop The Feeling - Justin Timberlake' could be suggested on the second platform and I would have the option to tick these to add them to my playlist.    Although this does sound like a complicated and long concept, I can assure you it's not. It would be a more time efficient and fun/exciting way to add songs to your playlists. The first platform of ticking and crossing genres would only need to be performed once and Spotify would remember your preferences. Following that, it is a simple tick or cross game to select your chosen songs.    Obviously, there would need to be an options menu, where you could correct mistakes such as ticking or crossing something by accident or if your taste in music genres changes you could select another genre or etc.   Thank you for your attention.   ... It would be a really great feature on spotify if there were music visualiations that were syncronised to the music you were playing. You could upload your own to go with playlists, or use those provided by the brilliant minds of spotify. It offers a new dimension to spotify and could really bring life to events with lighting effects and even themed visualisations, for example a christmas theme visualisation for a christmas playlist. Hi there, I'm a programmer and I turn on YouTube to a video of just rain sounds in the background to play while I listen to music on Spotify. I would love to see the ability to do this solely through Spotify (including on mobile). Adding things like the sound of rain or the ocean or nature would be great. I've shown co-workers what I do and they're hooked on it as well. We all love "discover weekly" playlist and other features on Spotify to find new music based on our preferences. However, sometimes we play some songs that are not related to what we actually like. E.g.:  at a Party, when a friend ask you to play a specific song that they like (and you don't lol), when you want to try a certain song which is totally out of your music taste spectrum but you don't want to start to get lots of suggestions based on that. I have a friend who listening to one Japanese song once and now she always get suggestions of Japanese music in her weekly playlist (and she doesn't like it). The amount of advertisement that we free Spotify users is a bit overkill. I understand that the point of having ads and all is to try and convince people to purchase Spotify Premium or a service from an outside source, but i think there should be a limit to how many ads we see. Advertisements show up every six to seven songs and even show up on the Spotify browser and app when you are not using it. Now I do not speak for everyone when i say this, but i don't think barraging users with constant " BUY ME" ads will make us more likely to buy something. I understand the point of ads nowadays is to catch the listeners attention, whether the method for that is annoying or not is another thing. I am incredibly fed up with these problems! I don't have a notification bell AND I NEVER get notification emails!!!! If this is all a part of some A/B Testing, I DON'T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT!!!! I don't receive any notifications about followers, new music, or anything! It's incredibly annoying trying to figure out who is following your playlist. I hate it so much, and it is plain ridiculous to take away the notification bell. Do I really have to log in to my web player every time I want to check my notifications?!?! That's stupid. First of all, if you're going to take a feature away, shouldn't you take it away from all means of getting onto spotify? Second, if I am signed up for notification (WHICH I AM), THEN I SHOULD GET NOTIFICATIONS. Do A/B testing on people who hate notifications, not me! I honestly cannot remember the last time a received a notification, and I can assure you that I have the correct settings turned on. Please, fix this problem!!! It is so incredibly annoying, especially as a PREMIUM member. I don't see what the point is of this test if you can choose to get notifications or not (again, STUPID).  In addition, I should also be able to see who follows my playlists at any given time, and of course, I should receive the notifications too. Spotify is a social app. The ability to see your followers is a part of the social factor! Furthermore, for those who still receive notifications about new playlist followers, it just doesn't make sense to block seeing your playlist followers on the desktop/phone apps and web player when you get emails about the new followers. It would be very nice if Spotify would include a feature in their running section that played music that is already on a playlist that you created or selected and finds songs on that playlist that matches your tempo. Instead of just having a "recommended for you" option that matches your tempo, a "saved music" or "playlist of your choice" would also be a nice option. I know this isn't the best of ideas because not all the songs on Spotify have been evaluated to see what their tempos are, but even if you could still do that and the songs that don't have a pre-evaluated tempo wouldn't play it would still be very nice and personalized. ...
