Hey there folks 👋

In the warmest month of August 🌞, we're very excited to introduce our newest addition to the Community Mod team - @Dessi 🤗

Let's get to know her:

Hey Desi! Even though you've been a part of the team for some time now, we'd love to welcome you once again✨🎉 Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?

- Hey folks, I'm Desislava, but most people call me Dessi, since it's shorter and easier. I'm 26, came to the capital 7 years ago to study at uni, but stayed here afterwards and am hoping to move somewhere a bit less crowded and hectic soon 🤞 I really enjoy learning new languages and after studying English and German in school, I decided to go for something similar in uni, so I chose Scandinavian Studies, which is basically philology and Nordic Countries 101 with an intensive studying of 2 languages - Swedish and Danish in my case. I also understand Italian quite well, but can't really speak it apart from the basics 😅 I really love traveling and if I didn't have to work, I'd probably be on the road all the time.

Do you have any pets or would you like to own one? 

- My parents and I got a cat 14 years ago, but she lives with them because I didn't want to stress her out and change her environment when I moved away from home. My dad's nickname is 4 paws, because he's always saving stray animals and trying to find them a home, I guess I got that love for animals from him. At one point we had around 12 cats living in our house's yard as well as 2 stray dogs we managed to save from the streets. The dogs lived a long life, but sadly passed away in the last few years, so we rescued another one a couple of months ago and are really happy about it!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

- If I could have a superpower, it'd definitely want to be able to teleport myself wherever and whenever I want. It's basically travelling for free and can also be very useful if you don't want to sit in traffic all day 🤣

What kind of music are you into and can you share some tunes with us?

- I listen to almost everything - I think the only genre I don't like is dubstep tbh. Here are some Dessi essentials:

Another constant in my life is rock, I was raised with 70s and 80s rock and it's my go-to if I'm feeling down:

Do you play any music instruments??

- I'm terrible at music - I can't sing or play any instrument apart from "Happy birthday" on a guitar and the basic notes from "Smoke on the water" everyone knows 😄

How do you best like to spend your free time and do you have a special hobby?

- It depends on my mood - either sleeping and reading/watching series and movies all day or going out and travelling. I don't think I have a special hobby, but I really like cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. I almost forgot about puzzles, since I haven't done one recently - once I start doing a puzzle I can't rest until it's done. This is a bit demanding because I don't go for puzzles under 1000 pieces and it usually takes me a whole day.

Last, but not least - the inevitable question - coffee/tea or neither and why?

- Tough one 😄 I've always equally enjoyed coffee and tea, coffee was never a wake-up or energy boosting necessity for me, I just like the taste of it, but I stopped drinking normal coffee some years ago and now I only go for decaf when I feel like it. So it turns out I'm a tea person after all, good to know 😁
