In Our Headphones: November 2024

Kiril

Greetings Community friends!

📅 Each month we dive into the eclectic playlists of our moderators, and pick out the tracks that we've had on heavy rotation. From hidden gems to all-time classics, the picks are as diverse as our Community itself.

👂 So grab your earbuds, hit play, and join us on this sonic journey through what’s been keeping us vibing all month!

🎧 Welcome to the November edition of In Our Headphones 🎧

This time we kick things off with @Maria! For Maria, another month simply means another Lady Gaga song 😛 So November's pick is:

Despite the song's name, I still think it's good for us! Every cure has a micro dose of the illness it treats right?

Next, we'll continue with @Dessi who seemed to feel a bit late to the party this month! She discovered some new artists to her, which either no longer make music or are starting new projects, so here we go:

"I found this one thanks to one of my daylists and it's been on repeat for me ever since then, it has a certain nostalgic feeling, but in the same time it's quite a mood booster. Turns out that the band split up, so at least I discovered them at the right time to follow their new projects 🙂"

"I think I found this one through an Instagram reel or something like that and it got stuck in my head, so I decided to look it up and I was shocked when I saw that it's actually Eddie Murphy singing, who knew he had a music career 🙂"

"Anyway, I just love the 80s feeling it brings, it's super groovy and I mean, who doesn't love this guy..."

Thanks a million Dessi, it's never too late to join the party, especially here in the Community! Many thanks for your tunes! Some real gems hidden in plain sight!

Moving on to @Vasil who was deep in thought this November, about how much he actually loves music that comes from motion pictures...

"I've been thinking about how much I enjoy soundtracks lately so why not use this opportunity to share some of my favorite ones with you! (And yes, it's Hans Zimmer! 🙂

One of the top spots for me just has to be Interstellar's main theme "Cornfield Chase". Especially this piano version of it:

Amazing. And, as for the next one, we can't go down the list without mentioning the musical symphony that is brought to us alongside the masterfully-made movie "Inception" to match its level of peak cinema:

And, of course, without any doubt, the one and only most magnificent musical tone of all time, inspiring awe and the purest joy in the hearts of all men, both young & old - "He's a Pirate", once again by Hans Zimmer. Enjoy!"

Great tracks Vasko, I really enjoyed the cinematic vibe you were on this month!

Next in the queue we're loading the tunes submitted from @Nikola who apparently was dusting his old rock catalogues:

"I don’t know how it’s just now that I took a deep dive into the catalog of these guys - but man, they are one of the best bands from the 90s/early 2000s in my opinion.

Super groovy, the vocal blend of the front man is so pure and touching. You’ve got heavy riffs, good rhythm and smart lyrics. Very well produced also! Incubus are everything I ever wanted from a rock band."

Yep, Incubus are great and I can't agree more with you on that one Nik. Now as we're on that rocky vine, let's see what Dan has in store for us!

@Yordan has been prolific and generous to us this month with some cool, even a bit cold-pressed tunes to help us brace ourselves for the upcoming winter!

"Verberis hail from New Zealand, and in contrast to their country's beautiful and majestic scenery, the landscapes the band portrays are bleak, desolate and hopeless.

spotify:track:5bProvaA49XnDYErLs8qik

I don't think there's another band in my music library that is as punishing and unforgiving as Mitochondrion (yep, I even went back and checked). These guys give a new meaning to the term "extreme metal" with the otherworldly sonic chaos they synthesize. Here, the violent and the occult coalesce into one virulent compound, oozing black filth and pestilence...

spotify:track:7jFjY0q0D5cVVhoGnoBYJE

Truly petrifying selection Dan! Thanks for reminding us that life is harsh out there!

As we are still wandering in the misty gloom we find @Joan with his rocky contributions:

"This month I've been feeling doomy and gloomy, but in a good way. Lots of new stoner rock and similar to be discovered and our lovely Star AdamDamon has been firing some epic suggestions my way. Cheers to you, @AdamDamon!

Thanks JJ, once again you've managed to bend the Time & Space Continuum with those hot takes!

As we approach the end of this edition, I just want to stick this one tune in your headphones with the single message to keep the vibes alive!
