Editing name of song already uploaded

Hi everyone,

I uploaded a song to Spotify a while ago and have just found the need to change the name of the song that is already uploaded- is there any way to do this?

Many thanks

Hey @pockwp,

If there’s something wrong with your artist name, release title, artist role, or artwork - or if your music is appearing on the wrong profile - you need to reach out to your label or distributor.

Spotify will then work with them to get it fixed. 🙂

How long does it take for Spotify to fix a song when it’s uploaded on the wrong profile.

Hey there @KiingRiich,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This must be addressed by the artist/label and our Artist Support team, so we don't have an exact timeline for how long it might take. If this has happened to you, then we recommend reaching out to our Artist Support team here.

If you need anything else, we're always a post away.

Cheers!

Hey. I released my new single on Spotify today. In the publication, I used Distrokid. I noticed that the release of the song is missing the letter n. The real name of the song is Anna in the hands of my heart, but on the spotlight and other streaming services there is Anna and after the letter a would still be the letter N. Can this be fixed ... Hey @TimiJarvivuori ,

In this case, DistroKid needs to send a metadata update to Spotify with the right info.

Spotify can’t change this manually on their end because they show music according to the metadata sent to them.

Thanks 🙂

Hello! Will changing the name of a song affect a playlist pitch if the song is not released yet? I have a song with a typo on name uploaded via Distrokid and will be released on april 8th.

Thanks a bunch!

Niklas

Hey @niklasnordling!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

You need to let DistroKid know about the typo, so they can take care of it before the song is released. Once they fix it, they'll send the metadata to Spotify and the correct info will be displayed.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers!

Thanks for the answer. We are only two days from the release so I don't think they'll be able to fix it before that. It has been three weeks since we uploaded and distrokid hasn't still detected our song on spotify.. Maybe it's best not to meddle right now since it is a minor typo. Would've been cool to change it but it's more important to go live and not potentially screw up the release.

We got the spotify for artist access "the old fashioned way" and did the playlist pitch so everythings cool at spotifys end..

Do you know if we can change it after the release still?

Hey @niklasnordling,

Thanks for the question.

Most likely you should be able to edit it after release. I would highly recommend reaching out to our customer support for Artists directly with this question, as they'll be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Hope this helps.
