I have Spotify Premium, on multiple devices. The problem appears in the Spotify app with a Windows 10 laptop, more specifically an Acer Aspire 5 A515, in this case, it would not reproduce in this specific case Olivia Rodrigo songs marked as explicit but other ones marked down as well will reproduce, like other artists.
Hey @Jijuu,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
This is an odd behavior as all explicit tracks should be playing despite the artists if you allow it. In this case, since this could be caused by some damaged cache that affects the proper behavior of the app, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This process will replace all damaged files and ensure you're running the latest app version.
If the issue persists, would you mind trying it on the Web Player to see if it makes any difference?
Lastly, to make sure this is not device related, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your laptop - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.
We'll be on the lookout.
I'm also having the same problem... except it's only on my iPhone devices (I have two iphones) but it works on my laptops, xbox, etc. And it's only Olivia Rodrigo songs. I've rebooted, hard re-boot, cleared the cache, switch explicit on and off, deleted the app (with hard and soft resets), nothing works. So odd it's just her songs.
Hi there @popkasdfdas,
Thanks for your post here in the Community.
Just to make sure we understand the situation, you're able to play Olivia Rodrigo songs, except for the ones marked as Explicit? If that is the case, could you try logging in with a different account from one of your iPhones and check if you can replicate the behavior from that account? It can be a relative or friend's account.
On another note, would you mind sending us a video recording of this behavior? You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
I am also having a similar problem;
- only Olivia Rodrigo songs
- only play if I shuffle her as an artist
- songs aren’t showing up in playlists
- her albums are blank and empty
Hey folks,
It's possible that the artist has accidentally been blocked in the mobile app, which syncs across all your devices. To check this, go to their artist page on the mobile app, tap the three dots menu and select Allow to play this artist.
Hope this helps!
