My Question or Issue
Samsung s21, Denmark - currently in Australia. Premium plan and Android system.
My question is about restricted content. An example could be a danish podcast called curlingklubben. I used to be able to access it thru spotify but for some reason it won't show or even certain songs. The thing is, my friends with the exact same set up are able to listen to both the music and podcasts that I can't. Anyone tried this before? I have explicit content active.
Hey @Mortenaude,
Thanks for writing in the Community!
Keep in mind that content can vary from one country to another and if your friends and family see some songs or podcasts that you don't at the moment, they may not be available in the country you're currently in. This depends on the rights of the artists and music labels and permissions from rights holders.
We add new content every day, so if you can’t find something, it may appear (or reappear) soon.
Hope this helps and we're here if you need us.
Hi thanks for the answer. I know that content might be area locked but this is the same when I am in my home country. Also my friend was right next to me and he had access to the content and he does not use a VPN. Is there anyway to reset the account because it's quite annoying.
Thanks for the details @Mortenaude!
Could you send us a link to the podcast you're unable to play, as well as a screen recording of how things look like on your end? If you're using a VPN, try disabling it to see if it makes a difference. It'd be very helpful if you could also check if the same thing happens on another device or on the Web Player with your account.
Keep us posted.
Hi Elena
Thanks for the reply. I have attached the link for the podcast, Curlingklubben in a google search url. If I click on it, it takes me straight to the app as it used to do, but then it just freezes on me. I have attached a picture of how it looks.
Same as with the music by suspekt. I can't find it if I go on via the app but If I google it I'm able to find the music but it's all unavailable.
Hi there,
We appreciate the cooperation!
Keep in mind that the region you're registered in is what defines the content you get in the app and if your account is with an Australian payment method, it would mean that you'll get content from that country, no matter where you are. Even if you're visiting back home, your account remains Australian.
We hope this info helps clear things up and we're here if you need us.
