My Question or Issue
I listen to the Friday Cratediggers Spotify Playlist every week to pick out what I like. Over the past couple of weeks, the order of songs will randomly change as I am listening (some tracks I haven't listened to yet will jump to the top of the playlist, while some I've already listened to will go to the bottom), this makes it hard to keep track of which songs I have already sorted through. I have noticed the same problem while listening on my iPhone as well. Please advise on whether this issue can be fixed. Thank you.
I keeps changing for me too. It's sooo annoying 😭😭😭
My problem isn't even with a spotify made playlist. It's one I created, and put in a very specific order. I repeatedly edit it, moving the song it for some reason suddenly decides needs to be the first song on the playlist, but it does nothing, the song staying stuck as the first one when I know for a fact that's not where it was on the playlist. I've noticed this with more than one playlist I've made as well.
Experiencing the same thing on a custom playlist in custom order on android.
I can't fathom why anyone would want a playlist to change while you are actively listening to it. I can understand why some users may want their playlists to refresh occasionally to keep current with their preferences, new content, etc. But while listening to a list is not the time to do so. This should not be "expected behavior".
For example, I will want to see the name of a song I just finished listening to (that I haven't heard before), but the playlist order changed and now I have no idea what the song was.
What are the reasons for updating a playlist while listening to it? All I can tell is that it causes confusion and annoyance.
Same here with the "Release Radar" and the others. It shuffles, seems to add new songs, and even changes the playlist icon (according to the title track).
It might happen after I open Spotify simultaneously on my laptop, but I'm not sure.
Hi @Yordan!
So, I'm experiencing the same issue with the "song radio playlist" almost 3 years later.
But, I don't relaunch the playlist, meaning I don't refresh or reopen the page. But the order of songs keep changing every few minutes. This is very annoying and gives me bad experience.
I'm using Spotify in Chrome browser Version 132.0.6834.83 (Official Build) (arm64).
I have MacOS Sonoma 14.1.
Thanks in advance for looking into this!
5 years later -- Spotify's "expected behavior" is like tuning into the radio (from the olden days), hearing the DJ give me a personal shoutout that they'll play my favorite song next because they know I like it, and then they change their mind. And they never play the song. And they are going to do that to me several times over the next hour. Altering what users have been told to expect is incomprehensible "expected" behavior for Spotify's goal of allowing users to "choose what you want to listen to." I did choose. Then the program overrode my choice and made its own. Makes one wonder for what goal this IS comprehensible behavior.
