Why official Spotify Sovietwave playlist is called "Retrowave"?

I'm just curious because they are two pretty different moods and genres to be honest (sovietwave is more gothy, retro/synthwave more dreamy, so to speak). 

I hope this isn't some kind of censorship, because this would be strange - the naming of the genre is clear and also symbolizes the region most of these bands playing it are coming from.

I really love the playlist Spotify, that is why I want people to find it easily.
