How do I transfer playlists from an account to another?

When I deactivated my Facebook account, I logged back into my Spotify account and it reactivated my account. So I made a new account.. How do I transfer my playlists from my old account to my new one? I tried "sharing" but that only works with friends on Facebook..

Hey! Welcome to the community :)

The easiest way is to sign into your old account, drag and drop your playlists from inside the Spotify client on the Windows desktop, log out, sign in with your new account and drag the playlists back from the desktop into the client.

A little extra info: I faced this problem when splitting our family account.

The new account was able to follow the playlist but the new account holder didn't own it so they weren't able to edit it.

The solution I found is awkward but it may be the only way.

I had the new account follow the playlists from the original account. I then created a new playlist in the new account with the same name.

Then you <shift> select every track in the followed playlist, add them to the resident playlist and unfollow the other.

You can try the tool I've created. It is available on my blog: http://aknowakowski.blogspot.com/p/trikatuka.html (English instruction at the bottom of post)

Alternatively, you could set the playlist on the original account to "Collaborative" in the right click menu, then anyone with access to the playlist can edit it ;)

I deleted my fb account and could no longer be "me" in my spotif account, so I got a new account and don't know how to transfer playllists from that old account to the new one.

Does this only work on windows or can you also drag to desktop on iMac? I can't get it to work.

You should be able to drag and drop on Mac too, but maybe not to desktop. Try a folder?

Hey. Is there a way to select all playlists at once or an export function?

I've got more than 200 playlists and it feels a little cumbersome to drag & drop each list on its own.

// edit: btw I'm on OS X

thx in advance
