As you may know, you can see lyrics with build-in plugin (I belive) MusixMatch at Windows, and at Android you can also download MusixMatch and see the lyrics while listening a song. My question is that, any chance that Spotify Linux can get lyrics support? Maybe we or devs can add MusixMatch to Spotify Linux.
Thanks
That would be awesome!
Yes, when I joined Spotify, I read about the lyrics feature and fealt it was one of the best drawcards (and most obvious ommission to music apps in general for a long time). Unfortunately, I can't see lyrics at work (Ubuntu).
This option shold be avalable to Linux users. Frusterating that it is not.
The lyrics option is already available if you use the 1.x version (the latest one - testing - is 1.0.27).
However, the 1.x version has some critical bugs ilke not showing in the taskbar (there's a workaround for this one) and no tray icon.
Which version is the best is up to your needs.
What we should do is ask for a dedicated Linux dev, since, believe it or not, there is no one working full time in the Linux client right now.
All the updates we are getting right now is from devs (mainly @jooon) who are working in their "free time" on the client.
Is there any advance in the current Linux client for lyrics support? The lyrics screen still black when i use the lyrics feature.

No. It is exactly the same situation as it is for Windows and Mac. In 1.0.32, the lyrics button was even removed to not advertise something that will not work anyway. It won't make anyone happier, but maybe make new users slightly less confused.
I just downloaded the latest version of the app for ubuntu 16.04 and there it is the lyrics button, but when I press it, the name of the song and the artist stays at the top left corner, and a search buttom at the top right corner, and nothing more, just a black screen where I presume the lyrics should be.
The lyrics feature was completely removed from Spoify some time ago. Windows and Mac users don't even have a lyrics button anymore.
of course, i waiting for that too.. because 80% of my digital life using Linux desktop
