Hello:

 

Yeah I noticed that today, seems a few labels uploaded new versions for some releases for meta tag corrections possibly? For example the Century Media label and such, a good bit of material I got notifications for was from this label.

Labels often redeliver the same album that has already been delivered by a different label when one label buys another or rights to albums are licensed in different countries. It is a business transaction. They have no simple technical protocol to let others know that rights have transfered. This is what happened here when Sony bought Century Media.

Spotify tries to detect duplicates and only show one. I only see one copy, not sure why you see two. It could be that the duplicate code had not run last friday when you looked at the artist page.
