  5. Steps to reproduce the issue:
  • Clean install Spotify for Ubuntu
  • Start it
  • Login with Google
  • Confirm login in browser
  • Here is an error

An error occurred something about the month ago. I had a message about the unknown error with only option to "refresh page" or smthn like that. This error persists all month. Today, I've removed the /HOME/.cache/spotify folder and reinstalled Spotify. Now I cannot log in. I see an error: "A firewall may be blocking Spotify... Error code: http:11". There is no VPN/proxy installed on my pc. I've also tried different networks. I'm currently in the country that is specified in my Spotify account.

Could you please help me with that?

Hey @VSalenko

Try if you access Spotify's web player.

Check if your firewall is enabled, disable it for a bit to see if that helps anything.
Check your /etc/hosts file to see if there's something in it that could block some part of Spotify from working as intended.

Let me know how you get on!

Hey @Sebasty
Thank you for your answer.

Spotify's web client works fine, no issues. I would use it, but the songs downloading/caching feature is essential for me.

I've disabled ufw and rebooted the pc, no effect, unfortunately.

My hosts file looks pretty default, I'm attaching it here.

Clear Cache works for me sometimes with this. I have multiple Spotify accounts and encounter this regularly.
