My Question or Issue

When viewing certain playlists I made, the songs I liked do not have a heart icon on both playlist view and bottom left. On the beginning of the video, "MEGALOVANIA" does not have the heart icon both on bottom left and the playlist. I open my "Liked Songs" playlist and come back, the heart icon appears as expected on both bottom left view and the playlist. Then I open the webpages of 2 songs coming after "MEGALOVANIA". When I open a page and come back, the song becomes liked as expected.

Intended Behaviour

Almost all songs that appear in the video are supposed to be liked.

Test conditions

I disabled uBlock Origin and cleared Spotify's all data from Firefox, the problem did not disappear. I also tested from Chrome which has the same problem.

So I found a workaround: Unlike your songs and like them again. Here are the steps:

1. Open the web player and go to your "Liked Songs" playlist

2. While holding Ctrl, click on the song on top of the playlist.

3. Go to the bottom and while holding Shift, click on the song at the bottom of the playlist. All songs should be selected.

4. Right click and choose "Add to Playlist" -> "Create New Playlist.

5. Open your new playlist containing all songs, do steps 2-3 to select all songs.

6. Right click and choose "Remove from Liked Songs" list.

7. Select all songs, this time add them to liked songs.

This unlikes and likes again your entire "Liked Songs" playlist while preserving the order of your "Liked Songs" playlist.EDIT: It doesn't preserve order, my songs are at random places lol

Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

It looks like the heart icon is updated only after you open the liked songs playlist or the song itself at least once. Here are a few steps that you can try:

  1. Perform a clean install of a new browser (you can try a different release of the same browser, beta, nightly, etc.) and check if the issue is there as well. A fresh install ensures that there is no data already saved in the browser instance like cache and cookies.
  2. Disable all your extensions and try in an incognito window.
  3. If you use any VPN or DNS service then turn them off.
  4. Use a different app like the mobile or desktop app to confirm if the issue is only on the web player or with the account.

Keep me posted. Note that you can share a screen recording here directly as well.

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I tried 2 other devices, iPad with Safari and an Android tablet with Chrome, both browsers had "requst desktop site" enabled  to load the regular website. They have the same issue.

I also installed Spotify app for Linux. No song on any playlist have heart / checkmark. If I hover with mouse on a song in one of my playlists, a checkmark icon appears and disappears when I move the mouse away. This happens to both songs I liked and I didn't. So the app isn't any useful.
