Just experienced exactly that same issue, running openSUSE Linux 42.2 and

This workaround helped:
> Install spotify-legacy (0.9.x) first, log in then install spotify (1.x).

Using: spotify-client-0.9.17_0.9.17.8.gd06432d.31-1_amd64.deb

Using libgcrypt11 from here:

Should be easily reproduceable with any openSUSE 42.2 system.

It just cost me over 2 hours to figure that out.

Very likely the same crash that is mentioned in this thread.


If it's allowed, I could post the deb file. This could help others, because the old version is not available in the repository. May I?

Same here with Ubuntu 16.04
