Linux desktop app won't resize

Linux desktop app won't resize

I just did a clean install of the Linux desktop client on an Ubuntu 12.04LTS system and it's mostly working.  I did have to deal with the "libudev.so.1" incorrect linkage, but I found some postings describing a "ln -s" hack to make that work.

The problem now is that the application opens in "full screen" mode, taking over the entire desktop.  And trying to change it back to a normally behaved window doesn't work.  Clicking the icon to flip out of "take over the desktop" mode just results in an odd white screen blink and the application goes back to hogging the desktop again.

Hello @cnamejj,

Welcome to Spotify Community!

Can you please let me know what is your Spotify version?

If you installed Spotify via repository, can you try the latest non-stable version and let me know if the issue persits?

The version number shows up in the window that launches when I click Help -> AboutSpotify, but it's blocking cut-n-paste.

So I'll transcribe it manually, but no promises that it's perfect.

Version 0.9.17.1.g9b85d436

And I'll try installing the latest release next.

Latest build won't install.  I get "Dependency is not satisfiable: libudev1" when I try.

Sounds like the same problem as the repo version but the hack I put in place to symlink around the missing library doesn't work since the installer is checking installed packages not looking for libraries.

Hello @cnamejj,

Instead of the hack can you try getting libudev1 from here.

Also are you running 64-bit or 32-bit OS?

I'm running 12.04LTS (precise) on the system I used for music, so "libudev1" isn't available.  And it's 64-bit.
