My Question or Issue

I was previously running a version of spotify prior to the UI refresh trying to avoid it, but recently updated to the latest version. Consistently over the past couple weeks, spotify steadily consumes more memory at a constant rate, even when idling. for some metrics, after an 8 Hour session of completely idle usage (No playback or search), spotify had consumed 23GiB of the available 32.

Spotify client crashed, and temporarily froze my OS (Fedora 38) possibly due to the same reason.

Log:

Out of memory: Killed process 31902 (spotify) total-vm:53111172kB, anon-rss:12376kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:364kB, UID:1000 pgtables:1300kB oom_score_adj:300

Adding my comment to bump this issue.

Also bumping this; after spotify is running for 4+ hours, it starts grabbing more and more memory. On Nobara 38, which is a fork of Fedora 38.

Ithlei: please send version and package type (snap or deb)
