My Question or Issue

Spotify crashes when adding folder to local files. I installed the stable version and I also tried the version from ubuntu store but same problem.

A few months ago I fixed installing this .deb version (spotify-client_1.1.10.546.ge08ef575-19_amd64.deb) and it worked but now those files can't be played.

How to fix?

Local music hasn't worked for a couple years in the official version. It crashes because it depends on an ancient version of ffmpeg that's no longer available in the repo of any distro released in the last couple years. Your options really are to either find and install a ffmpeg compat .deb (you'll need version 3.4.x) or just use the flatpak which takes care of dealing with that and a few other bugs for you.
