Spotify on mixed Linux (Ubuntu)/Windows network

Spotify on mixed Linux (Ubuntu)/Windows network

Hello, all.

Have encountered an extremely strange problem in recent weeks..

I built a silent Linux/Ubuntu nettop with a good DAC, to playback Spotify on my home network. It works *perfectly* - I use my iPhone and iPad as remote controls (or the other (Windows 10) computers) on the home network.

The issue is that the Ubuntu computer will not relinquish control to any of the W10 computers, unless it is switched off...

If I try to change the playback computer, I get a flashing blue menu bar across the top of the screen, and it scrolls through everything in my playlist without playing anything..

A totally unexpected behaviour from the app.

Any ideas, anyone??

You have a lot of stuff going on here. Are you able to switch from Ubuntu to your iPhone or iPad, or really can you switch from Ubuntu to any other device? This can help determine if it's the specific OS or something with the Nettop.

If you can't switch to anything I would suggest reinstalling on Ubuntu.

Let us know it it goes!
What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?
