My Question or Issue

The snap is not working anymore. This happens at a regular basis. The error is:

/snap/spotify/16/bin/desktop-launch: line 23: /home/lukas/.config/user-dirs.dirs: Permission denied
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "overlay-scrollbar"
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "gail"
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "atk-bridge"

(spotify:8107): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :1

The solution is to remove the snap and install it again. But this is very annoying so it would be good when this issue is fixed 🙂
Also everytime I open Spotify the system sound goes to full volume for some reason. My ears are already blown up 😞

Hey @LFlo92, welcome to the Community!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. We don't officially support Linux, but we'll be glad to lend a hand.

Do the issues you're having persist if you remove Spotify and install it back to your device?

Let us know if that helps.

If your log show various GTK errors, the problem is with OS itself, not specifically spotify.

And show a "permission denied" error. Do you try to run this comand with sudo?

I installed spotify this week on ubuntu 18.04 gnome via snap and works flawless

In a try to correct your problems, try this commands.

Keep in mind this can corrupt your OS.
Try with caution

To correct overlay-scrollbar

sudo apt-get install --reinstall overlay-scrollbar-gtk2

To correct gail and atk-bridge
sudo apt-get install libatk-adaptor libgail-common
