My Question or Issue

When I click on "Replace image" in the "Edit Playlist Details" view, Spotify crashes, its window closes instantly.

(I can't do that in web browser version either because of another bug I posted about…)

Instead of creating a new topic I will add to this thread. I'm encountering the same issue as well:

Hardware/OS

Brief Description of Issue

  • Adding image to Spotify playlist results in Spotify app crashing

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Spotify
  2. Select Playlist
  3. Select image (image should show a large pencil with the hovering text saying "Edit image")
  4. Spotify attempts to open native file explorer
  5. Spotify crashes (Segmentation fault)

I should also note that this also crashes when selecting the three dots, selecting "Edit Details" and then clicking on the playlist image.

Furthermore, I am unable to Edit Details on the browser client as well as the iOS app.

Same here, native Linux client crashes as detailed above.

I just noticed having this exact some issue. It happens whenever the client tries to open the native file manager when trying to select an image (like a custom image for an playlist). I noticed that the client doesn't crash when I open the file manager in Options > Local Files > Add a Source. Somehow it only happens when I need to select an image.

Experiencing the same.

HP - Ubuntu 20.04
Click playlist image, click edit image..... spotify crashes and closes.

I have the same issue using the stable Flatpak version of Spotify.
Running on a System76 Galago Pro with Pop_OS! 20.10 installed.

Same issues and method of reproduction as all above posts. Running the flatpak version 1.1.46.916.g416cacf1 on Pop_OS! 20.10.

I'm having this problem as well [Spotify for Windows 1.1.**bleep**.612.gb7409abc] LOL it edited out -sixty nine- where the bleep is.  Are you joking?.  Anyway, I was just doing new playlilst images a couple days ago no problem.  What is happening?  Come on Spotify help us out.  I'm premium, my rig is a gaming rig, i9 processor, 32G RAM, Windows 10, nVidia 2070, and I don't know what version I'm running, but I just got the update very recently.

@Rhaevyn

I don't think your problem is related to this ticket. The problem that's discussed in this thread seemed to be only occuring on Linux systems and (at least for me) has been fixed for a while now. (@Spotify: For which I want to thank the dev's who fixed it! 🙂 I know Linux isn't officially supported).

You may want to start a new thread/open a new ticket regarding your problem.
