White box on desktop client using linux mint

I am running linux mint 17.2 and I get a large white box in the middle of the spotify window. It is not every time and sometimes it works just fine. I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration as was suggested. I installed spotify recently on this computer.

If I start it from the terminal I starts like normal but it does throw this error:

Any ideas? It keeps happening
