older laptop with Intel i945 graphics - spotify crashes (Debian, devuan)

My Question or Issue

Hello , i have installed the .deb version as shown here

https://www.spotify.com/de-en/download/linux/

however, the resulting version would not start , resulting in crashes of program.

the laptop is  a bit older and has Intel internal graphics  only.

the error is like

libva error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so init failed
Illegal instruction

as seen in Debian 11, Debian 13 or Devuan 4.0.

maybe there is a workaround for this issue, thanks.

I am getting the same issue on a Core2Duo MacBook with integrated graphics running Pop OS
