My Question or Issue
Can we please get a aarch64-linux build of the spotify-desktop application? There's some nice ARM(64) hardware, but it's currently not possible to run the Spotify desktop application in an aarch64 environment, because there's no aarch64 build available.
This is essentially the same request as https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Linux/Spotify-Linux-on-aarch64/m-p/3367557#M299, but that one got closed due to the user leaving the platform.
And me also! I'm on Fedora 39 aarch64
i found an option. It is spotify-qt client. You can install it with snapd.
sudo snap install spotify-qt
Upd: Don't do that. That's bullsh##
Seconded, running Asahi on a macbook m1 pro
Been waiting for the longest time!
nobody listening here from spotify, it seems. issue is one year old and absolutely crickets from the devs. gg wp got your money succers.
Yes, please!
Owner of a Pinephone Beta from Pine64 running Arch Linux ARM on an ARM Cortex a53. I want to be able to play mu music via Spotify premium in my car! Please support aarch64, Spotify team! Thank you.
Wanted on a M2 mac running Ubuntu.
Spotify, how can it be you are leaving all of us alone in this case. Please, compile your product for aarch and arm Linux systems. There are so many of them -> Raspberry Pi, Asahi Linux for new Macs and many more. And it will increase.
Vote 1+. I need this too. I am running Ubuntu on pi4 as a multimedia touch panel.
significantly more effort than "a week of one developer's time" 🤣
Same here, I would love to have a way to install a spotify app ;(
Another Asahi linux user here.
The web player is also not working on firefox/chromium: Playback of protected content is not enabled. 🙄

well the fact is the Android version of the app is supported on arm64, which leads me to believe it may not be much effort to add support on the Linux variant
at the moment I think my only option is to run Android on my Raspberry Pi with the Spotify Android app
I use Ubuntu Ubuntu 23.10 - on the Raspberry Pi 5 - would also like to listen to music while coding via the Pi 🙂
you can install widevine with the following command.
sudo widevine-installer

I also support this and would be really glad if I could use spotify premium on my pinephone pro
+1 an arm64 build would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Running on a Raspberry Pi 5, Debian KDE Plasma.
Even though I know this is probably never going to happen (too few users who know enough to know they need it, too many issues porting to ARM), I too hope that the Spotify devs with all their free time get to this soon.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
