[Desktop][Mac] Spotify doesn't detect Google Home or Google Chromecast devices

Recently I noticed that Spotifi installed on my Macbook Air doesn't detect Google Home Minis/Std or Google Chromecast devices on my WiFi. They don't show up on the device list. On the same Wifi I also have a Denon amplituner which IS detected by Spotify Desktop. 

At the same time all our Android phones detect all Google Home/Chromecast devices without any problem. Also we can play music from Spotify on Google Home devices by issuing voice command. 

In such cases (when we active playback from one of the phones or from Google Home devices) Spotify Desktop displays information that playback goes from the correct device and the device gets visible on the list of Connect devices. 

Looks like a bug in desktop version.

Good news!

You can now find Chromecast in the connect "devices available" menu in the Spotify desktop app and browser web player. Now you can cast your music to Chromecast from the desktop app without having to use the iOS or Android app.

Make sure your Spotify desktop app is up to date
