My Question or Issue
Ive recently just purchased a MacBook. When I tried to sign into the Spotify application, I'm met with the auth:16 error message. Ive already tried to change my proxy settings to "no proxy" to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.

Next step that we'd recommend is to check your firewall and antivirus software or apps to make sure Spotify is whitelisted or set as an exception.
If that doesn't do it for you, feel free to clean up your hosts file with the steps here.
Lastly, try connecting your desktop to the Internet via a mobile hotspot to see if you're able to log in.
If that doesn't do it for you, could you let us your Spotify version and, if possible, if you experience this when trying to use the web player?We'll be on the lookout for your answer and we'll see what we can suggest next.
The message is saying that it may be that the Firewall is blocking Spotify and I should enable it in the Firewall and check my Proxy Configuration.
