Local files disappeared after trying to sort

Hey guys, I was trying to get some songs that I downloaded from my local files into my spotify playlists.  All of my songs had been showing up, no problem, but when I tried to sort the songs by artist, nothing happened. To try to solve this, I left the songs sorted by artist (although they were all still being sorted by song name) and restarted spotify on my desktop.  When I started spotify back up, none of the songs showed up.  The local files folder says it has pulled my 4000+ songs (from the correct folder on my computer), but none of them are showing up. I even tried to reinstall Spotify. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?
