Please revert the "heart" to a neutral tick, star, plus or similar

Today I discovered, to my horror, that all songs listings in the Mac client have had the usual tick marked replaced with a "heart" icon. Also the "Follow" button in songs, albums and artists has been replaced with the same "heart". 

The new icon is gauche, tacky, disgustingly saccharine, and strikes a violently discordant note with anything but the most air-headed pop songs sharing those same qualities. How am I supposed to listen to black metal with these hearts all over the place? Or Tchaikovsky, for that matter?

Spotify, I beseech you to end this assault against good taste and common decency. Change the icon to something neutral.

I agree with the OP and I would also add that the new heart icon in the "Add to library" button in the album view is terribly uncentered and misaligned (at least on Linux). See the attached screenshot.
