Question about "followers"

Hi there!

So I have an odd question. An old flame of mine has been following me on Spotify for a good while now and I've since unfollowed him. I checked to see if he's still following me on my profile (which he is), but when I checked his profile, it says he isn't following anyone. Is there a glitch in the system or is there a new privacy feature that prevents others from seeing who you're following?
