My Question or Issue
I upgraded my OS today in the morning to Catalina from Mojave. After upgrading I cannot open Spotify Desktop App as after clicking on the icon, it bounces once/twice, than it just closes itself. I saw this issue posted for another user but I'm not sure what's causing this. Can anyone help?
I have tried uninstalling and installing back again with no avail.
My current Spotify version is : 1.1.16.522.g55a4b852
Hi there!
I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.
Try to disable Hardware Acceleration, just click on the spotify Menu in your Menu Bar next to the Apple Menu, just find Hardware Acceleration and next click on it to disable then confirm to restart Spotify.
Keep me posted 🙂
I've already tried the restarting and all the reinstallation steps. It just doesn't open.
Steps that happen -
I click on the application in my dock bar.
The application icon bounces once.
The black screen comes up for a second.
Then the application exits.

same problem!
I found a solution.
The problem came from "antidote" menubar.
go to antidote AgentConnectix preferences menu bar > contextual menu > options
and choose "spotify app" to exclude by clicking +
Hope this help
