Spotify volume indicator wrong when starting up with system

I have Spotify set to open automatically with my computer.

Spotify's volume restores properly to the old setting when it starts up, which is good. However- the volume indicator in the app shows as FULL and changes don't have any effect until I restart the app.

The rest of the system audio (not Spotify) is the correct volume, so I know it's something wrong with Spotify's indicator.
